CSK invested INR 14.20 crore each for Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer. It was the first time CSK spent more than INR 10 crore in the auction for an uncapped player. Kartik is a 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan and has played 12 T20 matches so far. He has made 334 runs at a strike rate of 162.92. Prashant, a 20-year-old all-rounder from Uttar Pradesh, made his T20 debut in 2023. He has played nine T20 games for Uttar Pradesh so far and has taken 12 wickets.

Before the auction, the team retained a total of 16 players. They traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to the Rajasthan Royals in place of Sanju Samson. Dewald Brevis, Ayush Mhatre, and Urvil Patel came as replacement players last season and delivered some exceptional performances. The trio was retained for the upcoming season.

CSK released a few key players who played an important role in the last few years, including the likes of Matheesha Pathirana, Devon Conway, and Rachin Ravindra. Conway was the leading run-scorer for the team in the title-winning season in 2023. Pathirana played for CSK from the 2022 season to 2025 and picked up 47 wickets in 32 games at an average of 21.61.
