IPL 2026 Ticket Price List and the 40% GST Change

The Indian Government moved IPL into the “Luxury Entertainment” tax bracket in late 2025. This raised the GST on tickets from 28% to 40%.

In simple terms, a ticket that cost ₹1,000 last season now costs ₹1,400. The only thing that did not change — tickets under ₹500 still have no GST.

For example, a mid-tier seat at a base price of ₹3,500 will cost you ₹4,900 at checkout. Check the final price before you pick your stand, especially if you plan to attend more than one match.

Why Bengaluru IPL 2026 Tickets Are on Hold

A stampede at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2025 led the BCCI and the Karnataka government to set up an Expert Committee to check stadium safety before any IPL match takes place in Bengaluru.

The committee will run a mock drill on March 13, 2026. It will check gate management, crowd flow, and how fast the stadium can be cleared. Two things can happen after this:

  • The stadium gets clearance: Ticket sales for RCB home games open on the same day. The first match, RCB vs SRH on March 28, goes ahead at Bengaluru.
  • The stadium does not get clearance: The BCCI may move the matches to Raipur (Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium). New tickets will go on sale under a revised schedule.

Check the BCCI’s official channels on March 13 for the decision. If you hold off on booking Bengaluru matches until then, you avoid a possible rebooking.
