Lucknow Super Giants were one of the four franchises with a purse value of more than INR 20 crore. From that point, LSG had to fight some tough battles to sign the remaining four players. They signed Mukul Choudhary, a wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, for INR 2.60 crore after a bidding war against the Rajasthan Royals. Naman Tiwari, the left-arm pacer, cost LSG 1 crore and made six bids for him. The Royals were also interested in signing him.

Akshat Raghuwanshi was the next batter, who was selected by the franchise for INR 2.20 crore. LSG fought a bidding war against the Sunrisers Hyderabad for him. For Josh Inglis, LSG spent INR 8.60 crore and fought a bidding war against SRH once again.

SRH traded Mohammed Shami from SRH in an all-cash deal for INR 10 crore. They also got Arjun Tendulkar from the Mumbai Indians, again for an all-cash deal for INR 30 lakh. Shardul Thakur was traded to MI. The franchise left a total of eight players before heading to the auction, including the likes of David Miller, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Deep, and Shamar Joseph.
