The franchise made bids for a total of six players. Out of these, they failed to sign Aman Khan and Rahul Chahar. PBKS decided to re-sign Dubey after releasing him before the auction.

PBKS signed the Australian duo of Cooper Connolly and Ben Dwarshuis. For Connolly, PBKS spent a total of INR 3 crore and fought a small battle against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Dwarshuis came at a price of INR 4.40 crore, and PBKS had to fight a bidding war against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans for him.

Under Shreyas Iyer, PBKS delivered one of their best performances in the IPL last year. The franchise finished in first place after winning nine out of 14 matches. They went on to play the final and lost the same against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six runs. Iyer will be back to lead the side once again in the upcoming edition of the league.
