The Rajasthan Royals did one of the biggest trades before the IPL 2026 auction. They traded former skipper Sanju Samson to the Chennai Super Kings and in return got Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Jadeja was a part of the RR squad that won the first-ever edition of the IPL in 2008. The franchise came to the auction table with a purse value of INR 16.05 crore.

In the auction, RR bought a total of nine players. Ravi Bishnoi, one of the only three Indian bowlers who have reached the No. 1 position in the ICC T20I bowling rankings, was there in the auction pool. RR fought a bidding war against CSK and SRH to sign Bishnoi for INR 7.20 crore. He became the most expensive spinner at the auction this year.
Apart from Bishnoi, RR bought Adam Milne for INR 2.40 crore. The other seven players were bought for under 1 crore each. RR did two more trades before the auction. They traded Nitish Rana to the Delhi Capitals for Donovan Ferreira.
Before the auction, RR released a total of nine players, including the Sri Lankan duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga. Theekshana went unsold in the auction, while Hasaranga was picked by the Lucknow Super Giants for his base price of INR 2 crore.
