Teams in the Senior Women’s Interzonal One Day Trophy 2025-26

Six zonal teams representing different regions of India compete in this tournament. Each team plays every other team once in the round-robin league stage before the top two advance to the final.

Here is the full list of participating teams for the 2025-26 edition.

ZoneTeam Name
North ZoneDefending Champions
South ZoneBengaluru-based home support
East ZoneStrong batting lineup
West ZoneExperienced squad
Central ZoneConsistent performers
North East ZoneRising regional talent

North Zone arrives as defending champions from the 2022-23 edition and will carry that confidence into every match they play.

The other five zones will be looking to dethrone them and claim the title in what promises to be a competitive round-robin stage played entirely on one ground.

Points System

The tournament uses a points-based system to rank teams after each match in the league stage. Every result directly affects a team’s position in the standings and their chances of reaching the final.

A win earns 4 points. A tie gives 2 points to each team. A loss earns 0 points. If a match is abandoned or has no result, both teams receive 2 points each.

If two or more teams finish level on points at the end of the league stage, most wins separates them first, followed by head-to-head record, and then Net Run Rate as the final tiebreaker.

Venue: BCCI COE Ground, Bengaluru

The entire tournament takes place at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru.

This is a dedicated high-performance training and match facility managed by the BCCI, offering top-quality playing surfaces and excellent infrastructure for domestic women’s cricket.

Bengaluru’s moderate climate in March makes it a good location for back-to-back matches across an 11-day window.

The ground is well-maintained, and the BCCI COE facility has become one of the most important venues for domestic women’s cricket in India over the past few years, hosting several high-profile competitions.

Key Matches to Watch

Three fixtures from the league stage stand above the rest and are worth marking on the calendar before the tournament begins.

North Zone vs South Zone on March 5 is the opening match of the tournament and immediately pits the defending champions against a strong regional opponent on the very first day.

Central Zone vs North Zone on March 11 is the final league stage match involving the defending champions and could decide who finishes top of the table heading into the final.

Any match involving the North East Zone will be closely watched, as the rising regional talent they bring to the tournament has consistently surprised stronger and more experienced zones in recent domestic competitions.
