How the Points Table Works
The points table ranks all six zones based on the results of their matches in the round-robin league stage. Every result directly affects a team’s position and their chances of reaching the final on March 15, 2026.
A win earns 4 points. A tie gives 2 points to each team. A loss earns 0 points. A match that is abandoned or has no result gives both teams 2 points each. If two or more teams finish level on points at the end of the league stage, most wins separates them first, followed by head-to-head record, and then Net Run Rate as the final tiebreaker.
What is Net Run Rate (NRR)?
Net Run Rate is a calculation used to separate teams that finish level on points in the league table. It measures how quickly a team scores runs compared to how quickly their opponents score against them.
The formula subtracts the average runs conceded per over from the average runs scored per over across all matches. A positive NRR means a team is scoring faster than they are conceding. A negative NRR means the opposite. Winning by big margins improves NRR, while losing by large margins damages it badly. In a tight tournament like this, NRR can be the difference between reaching the final and going home.
Qualification Rules
The top two teams from the six-team round-robin league stage advance to the final. There are no semi-finals in this tournament. Points earned across all five league matches decide which two teams meet in the final on March 15, 2026.
If two or more teams finish on equal points, the tiebreakers are applied in this order: most wins, head-to-head result between the tied teams, and then Net Run Rate. There is no third-place match or play-off in this tournament. Only the two finalists play on the last day, and the winner of that match takes the title.
Zone-wise Preview
Each of the six zones brings different strengths into the 2025-26 edition, and the table could look very different from the last edition by the time the league stage is done.
North Zone arrives as defending champions with a perfect record from 2022-23 and will look to repeat the same dominance across all five of their league matches.
Central Zone finished second last time with the tournament’s best NRR of 1.870, which means their batting has the firepower to chase down any target quickly.
East Zone scored the most runs of any team in the last edition with 1153 runs across five matches, showing they can bat deep and build big totals.
South Zone finished fourth, but their NRR of 0.394 shows they were competitive in most matches.
West Zone won only one match last time, but domestic tournaments like this often produce different results depending on form and squad selection.
North East Zone finished last with zero points and will be looking to record their first wins in this competition in the 2025-26 edition.
