Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the IPL 2026 auction with a purse value of INR 25.50 crore, the third-highest among the 10 franchises. They made some interesting choices at the auction table. SRH spent INR 6.30 crore, around 25% of their purse, to sign eight uncapped players. They spent more than 50% of their purse to sign English all-rounder Liam Livingstone for INR 13 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants were also interested in signing Livingstone.
SRH bought a total of 10 players in the auction. Apart from Livingstone, their other overseas buy was 25-year-old Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards. SRH shelled out INR 30 crore for Edwards. Edwards has played 67 T20 matches and has scored 807 runs. With the ball, he has taken 41 wickets at an average of 23.70.
Salil Arora, a wicketkeeper-batter from Punjab, was the most expensive uncapped player for the franchise. SRH fought a bidding war against the Mumbai Indians and picked Salil for INR 1.50 crore.
Before the auction, SRH traded Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants in an all-cash deal. The franchise released a total of eight players before coming to the auction.
