The Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 21 and runs until March 1, with eight teams split into two groups of four.
India has already qualified from Group A, while Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe advanced from Group B, England and West Indies from Group C, and South Africa and New Zealand from Group D.
Australia was eliminated after Zimbabwe’s washout against Ireland confirmed qualification. The final Super 8 spot depends on Pakistan’s result, with USA and Netherlands still mathematically in contention based on net run rate.

How Super 8 Qualification Worked
There were 20 teams, placed into four groups with five teams in each group.
The top two teams from each group advanced to the Super 8 stage. Points were awarded for wins, with net run rate serving as the primary tie-breaker when teams finished level on points.
The group tables reflected both results and margins. India topped Group A with six points and a +3.050 NRR. From Group B, Sri Lanka (6 points, +2.462) and Zimbabwe (5 points, +1.984) progressed. West Indies (6 points, +1.820) and England (6 points, +0.201) secured qualification from Group C. South Africa (6 points, +1.477) and New Zealand (6 points, +1.227) advanced from Group D.
Group A remains partially unresolved. Pakistan has four points with a -0.139 NRR, and their qualification remains in their own hands. A win in their final match confirms progression. USA, also on four points but with a stronger +0.788 NRR, qualify if Pakistan loses. Netherlands, on two points with a -1.352 NRR, require a significant net run rate swing, along with favourable results, to remain in contention.
