The Vijay Merchant Trophy 2025–26, India’s premier U-16 cricket tournament, returns with a packed December schedule featuring 36 teams across competitive league rounds. These 36 teams have been divided into two categories – plate and elite. In the elite category, teams have been divided into five groups containing six teams each. The remaining six teams are placed in the plate category.
The matches in both categories start on December 7. There is a knockout phase in the elite category consisting of two pre-quarter-finals, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, and a final. The final will be played on January 25. In the plate category, the top two teams will face each other in the final and it will be played on January 4.
