1. PKL 2025 Points System Explained
PKL Season 12 uses an updated points system with new tie-breaker rules:
- Win: 2 points (not three as in previous seasons)
- Tie/Draw: Both teams get points based on tie-breaker results
- Loss: 0 points
- Tie-breaker system: If there is a tie in the match, 7 players from each of the teams will have to compete for a ‘tie-breaker’ round.
Having a point difference is the most important for ranking higher on the ranking table.
2. Tie-Breaking Rules Followed in PKL
These are the rules that will be followed if a match reaches a tie.
- Primary: Total points
- Secondary: Point difference (PD)

These tables have the full schedule of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, divided by these four venues.
There are a total of 108 matches this season. This is because each team has to play every other team at least once before the qualifiers are decided.
Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 2025 Teams & Performance
Here are the 12 teams competing this season:
1. Puneri Paltan
Puneri Paltan is really one of the top teams right now. After making consistent and strategic buys at the auction this year, they have turned out with great attack and defence both.
Their captain, Aslam Inamdar, is leading the team with his great raiding skills, along with being a known all rounder.

2. UP Yoddhas
Finishing at the 3rd place last season, as with their rank for many in the poast, UP Yoddhas are turning out to be genuine contenders for the trophy with their balance and perseverance.
Although they have yet to win a season, they are never something to scoff at. This year too, they have come out with point scoring attacks and wall like defenders. Maybe this is the season they finally lift the cup.

3. U Mumba
U Mumba might not have a star raider like other top teams this season, but Ajit Chouhan and Aanil Mohan are not backing down with their plays. On the other hand, Sunil Kumar has made their defence their biggest strength. As of now, the team is to be taken very seriously.

4. Bengal Warriors
All-rounders to a minimum, two strong defenders, and the flashy and strong Devank Dalal for the attacks, and the Bengal Warriors seem an unpredictable team.
While Nitesh and Mayur can try their best in defense, interesting additions like the Korean player Jan Kun Lee and former player turned coach Naveen Kumar will need to prove if they really serve the team or not.

5. Dabang Delhi K.C.
Delhi seems to have collect all the defence legend this year with Fazel Atrachali and Surjeet Singh, supported by Saurabh Nandal. Not only that, Delhi has also spent a hefty amount on Ashu Malik, their seemingly star player.
While these top names make the team look fearsome, if they have an off-day, there seems to be low flexibility in the team. Time will tell if this works for them or not.

6. Jaipur Pink Panthers
Jaipur seems to be going all in defence this year, with both their captain, Nitin Rawal, and vice captain, Reza Mirbagheri, leading the team as ace defenders. But their attack looks like a work in progress.
After Arjun Deshwal’s exit, they spent big on Nitin Dhankhar. Getting Iran’s Ali Samadi in the mix can prove correct. And if the team clicks under the coaching of Narendra Redhu, they might just go far enough for a 3rd title.

7. Tamil Thalaivas
Tamil Thalaivas are again betting big on their young raiders this season. Arjun Deshwal, the star raider, and Narender are the main weapons in attack, both capable of turning games with speed and risk-taking.
Defence has names like Moein Shefaghi and Sagar Rathee, but it still doesn’t look as solid as some of the other top teams. The Thalaivas are entertaining to watch, but unless their defence improves, they might remain a mid-table side fighting hard for the playoffs.

8. Patna Pirates
Patna Pirates have gone heavy on raiding this season. With Ankit Jaglan leading a big unit that includes Ayan, Maninder Singh, Sudhakar M, and Milan Dahiya, they look packed with attacking options.
Defence is less proven, but names like Sombir, Sanket Sawant, and Iranian imports Amin Ghorbani and Hamid Mirzaeinader bring experience and strength. The key will be whether this defence clicks under pressure. If it does, Patna’s deep raiding bench makes them genuine playoff challengers.

9. Bengaluru Bulls
Bengaluru Bulls are built on defence this season. Captain Ankush Rathee leads a tight unit with Yogesh Dahiya and Sanjay Dhull holding the corners, and Chandranaik M anchored in support.
Their raiding group is wide and hungry — Akash Shinde, Pankaj, Manjeet Thakur, Mahipal, Shubham Bitake, Aashish Malik, Ganesha Hanamantagol, and all-rounders like Alireza Mirzaian and Amit Thakur bring plenty of depth. If their defence holds firm, this balanced squad could push hard into the playoffs.

10. Telugu Titans
Telugu Titans enter Season 12 under Vijay Malik, a seasoned all-rounder now leading the side. Their raiding depth is strong with Ashish Narwal, Manjeet, Rohit Singh, Chetan Sahu, and Jai Bhagwan all ready to score.
Defense has a steady mix of Ajit Pawar, Shubham Shinde, Sagar, Aman, Amir Ejlali, and Ankit. While all-rounders like Ganesh Parki and Bharat Hooda offer flexibility. If their attack keeps flowing and the defence holds steady, the Titans could be serious playoff contenders.

11. Haryana Steelers
Haryana Steelers enter this season with real swagger as defending champions. Under captain Jaideep Dahiya, their defence is locked and loaded with Rahul Sethpal, Ankit Dhull, Sachin Dahiya, and N Manikandan holding down the corners and covers.
The raiding brigade is fierce too with Naveen Kumar, Vinay Tevathia, Shivam Patare, Vishal Tate, Mayank Saini, Ghanshyam Magar, and Vikas Jadhav bring explosive energy. With all-rounder Sahil Narwal adding flexibility, this squad looks like a full-tank playoff machine.

12. Gujarat Giants
Gujarat Giants have made a bold statement by naming Mohammad Reza Shadloui, last season’s MVP defender, their captain. He anchors their defence with unmatched leadership.
The raiding duties are shared by Rakesh Sungroya, Parteek Dahiya, V. Ajit Kumar, Himanshu Singh, Ankit Dahiya, Harish, and Shridhar Kadam. Backing them up in defence are Lucky Sharma, Rohit Nandal, Shubham Kumar, Sumit, and Iranian ace Milad Jabbari.
If the backline gels under Shadloui’s guidance, this youthful yet experienced squad could surprise everyone in the playoffs.

Some team battles in PKL always stand out. Clashes between the top contenders are packed with intensity, often shaping the points table and giving fans thrilling finishes. Mid-table teams bring unpredictability, sometimes pulling off big upsets against stronger sides.
Meanwhile, squads struggling for form usually need something special to turn games in their favour. Whether it’s a heavyweight showdown or an underdog fight, every matchup adds its own drama to the season.
Best Performing Team In PKL & Other History
Patna Pirates have been the best-performing team in the history of PKL, topping the PKL winners list.
Along with winning 3 trophies, they have reached 5 playoffs and have rarely dropped down to the bottom position. U Mumba, on the other hand, has won twice in 2015 and then in 2018.

The Pro Kabaddi League started in 2014 with just eight teams, which has now grown to 12. There are new rules and formats each season. We have seen some players become almost household names, like Pardeep Narwal, Rahul Chaudhari, and Fazel Atrachali

The winners of the first season were the Jaipur Pink Panthers, who have now fallen to almost average performance through the last few seasons.
PKL has made Kabaddi way more popular than it ever was before, with the players getting their time and talent’s worth in season salaries and prize money.
Who Can Win PKL Season 12?
Season 12 has only just started, but the shape of teams already gives us hints. Leadership and squad balance matter more than just the first few wins.
Bengal Warriors are betting big on Devank Dalal. He was bought for over two crore in the PKL auction after last year’s heroics. The squad itself has a mix of youth and solid defenders, which makes them unpredictable.

Puneri Paltan have Ajay Thakur guiding from the bench and Aslam Inamdar leading on the mat. They also signed Sachin Tanwar, one of the league’s best raiders. If Aslam stays fit, this team can go far.

Dabang Delhi K.C. stick with Ashu Malik. Fazel Atrachali and Naveen bring the balance that Delhi always needs. Their early games suggest a team that can grind results.
Jaipur Pink Panthers are under Nitin Rawal’s captaincy with Reza Mirbagheri as his deputy. Add some young talent into the mix, and they don’t look like easy opponents at all.
UP Yoddhas continue with Sumit Sangwan, and U Mumba with Sunil Kumar. Both have steady cores and enough depth to stay in the race as the season gets longer.

What Do The Champions Of The Pro Kabaddi League Win?
Apart from the individual salaries that each player is paid for playing the season, which is decided on the auction, the champions of the Pro Kabaddi League are also awarded huge cash prizes as a team.

In Season 11, Haryana Steelers got ₹3 crore as champions, while Puneri Paltan received ₹1.8 crore as runners-up. Teams in the 3rd or 4th position also get rewarded ₹90 lakhs each, while the 5th and 6th position teams get 45 lakhs each.

Individual players were rewarded, too. Mohammadreza Shadloui won the Most Valuable Player award with ₹20 lakh. Devank Dalal was named Best Raider and earned ₹15 lakh, while Nitesh Kumar took Best Defender for ₹15 lakh.
Not only this, but the awards ‘Game Changer of the Final’ and ‘Moment of the Final’ also get rewarded with ₹ 50,000 each. These prizes show that the league rewards both team success and individual brilliance.
