119 metres, that is how far a cricket ball can travel when Yuvraj Singh decides to hit it. It happened on 22 September 2007 at Kingsmead, Durban, in a T20 World Cup semi-final against Australia, which is the highest six hit in a T20 World Cup Match
Brett Lee bowled it, Yuvraj cleared the boundary with it, and that shot has sat at the top of the record books ever since. He made 70 off 30 balls that night, India won by 15 runs, and went on to lift the cup. Nearly 18 years later, no one has hit it farther in a T20 World Cup.

Each of these ten sixes tells a completely different story, from a World Cup semi-final at Durban to a group stage hit at Hobart that nobody saw coming.
1. Yuvraj Singh (IND) – 119m vs Australia | Semi-Final | 22 Sep 2007
India posted 188 for 5 against Australia at Kingsmead, Durban, and Yuvraj Singh was the reason. He scored 70 off just 30 balls at a strike rate of 233.33, hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes before being caught by Hussey off Clarke.

One of those sixes off Brett Lee travelled 119 metres, the longest in T20 World Cup history. India won by 15 runs and went on to win the title. No batter has gone past 115 metres at a World Cup since that evening.
2. Liam Livingstone (ENG) – 112m vs South Africa | T20 World Cup 2021
Liam Livingstone scored 18 off 10 balls against South Africa in the 2021 T20 World Cup before being caught by de Kock off Phehlukwayo at 15.2. His innings included 3 fours and the 112-metre six off Kagiso Rabada that became the longest hit of that tournament.

The commentary at the time called it a “monster” hit. What makes it more interesting is that Rabada was Livingstone’s own Punjab Kings teammate in the IPL at the time, and the two later laughed about it publicly.
3. Andre Russell (WI) – 111m vs Australia | T20 World Cup 2021
Andre Russell came in late in the innings for West Indies against Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup and finished unbeaten on 24 off just 8 balls at a strike rate of 300.00, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.

West Indies posted 196 for 4 and won by 56 runs. Shimron Hetmyer was Player of the Match with 61 off 36 balls, but it was Russell’s 111-metre six that stayed in people’s memories long after the final score was forgotten. The ball left his bat and simply kept going.
4. Hardik Pandya (IND) – 109m vs Namibia | Group A | 12 Feb 2026
India put up 209 for 9 against Namibia at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on 12 February 2026 and won by 93 runs. Hardik Pandya scored 52 off 28 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 185.71 before being dismissed. In the 15th over, left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz came on to bowl, and Pandya stepped into a slightly slower delivery and sent it 109 metres over long-off.

It was the longest six of the 2026 tournament, and it changed the mood of India’s innings completely.
5. Junaid Siddique (UAE) – 109m vs Sri Lanka | Group A | 18 Oct 2022
Sri Lanka vs United Arab Emirates was played at Simonds Stadium in Geelong on 18 October 2022. Junaid Siddique scored 18 off 16 balls before being caught by Nissanka off Theekshana. The match ended as a heavy 79-run loss for the UAE.

But at 16.2, Chameera bowled a full delivery on the stumps, and Siddique cleared his front leg and launched it 109 metres over deep midwicket. The commentary noted the ball landed on the roof. One hit, a forgettable game, and a place in the record books forever.
6. Shimron Hetmyer (WI) – 108m vs Zimbabwe | Super 8 | 23 Feb 2026
West Indies played Zimbabwe in a Super 8 Group 1 match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, i on 23 February 2026 and won by 107 runs. Hetmyer scored 85 off just 34 balls with 7 fours and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 250.00 before being caught by Brian Bennett off Graeme Cremer.

He hit Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza for a 108-metre six on the first ball of the 10th over. West Indies posted 254 for 6 in total. Hetmyer’s power in the middle overs was the difference between a competitive score and a demolition.
7. Rovman Powell (WI) – 107m vs Uganda | Group C | 9 Jun 2024
West Indies faced Uganda in a Group C match at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on 9 June 2024. Powell scored 23 off 18 balls with 4 fours and 1 six before being caught by Robinson Obuya off Masaba.

At 10.4, Nsubuga bowled at 95.9kph, and Powell came down the track and absolutely muscled the ball 107 metres out of the stadium. The commentary described it as a hit that was not close to the pitch of the ball at all,l but still cleared the boundary with plenty to spare. Pure power, nothing else.
8. Shivam Dube (IND) – 107m vs Namibia | Group A | 12 Feb 2026
This entry comes from the same match as Hardik Pandya’s 109-metre hit. India vs Namibia on 12 February 2026 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Dube scored 23 off 16 balls with 1 four and 1 six at a strike rate of 143.75 before being run out. At 14.1, Bernard Scholtz bowled, and Dube sized up a quick delivery and whacked it 107 metres over midwicket.

Two sixes of 107 and 109 metres came from the same Indian innings against the same bowler. India won by 93 runs, and Scholtz had no answer for either of them.
9. Iftikhar Ahmed (PAK) – 106m vs South Africa | Super 12 | 3 Nov 2022
Pakistan faced South Africa in a Super 12 Group 2 match at Sydney Cricket Ground on 3 November 2022. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 off 35 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 145.71 before being caught by Rossouw off Rabada.

He smashed a 106-metre six off a short ball from Lungi Ngidi in the 16th over. Pakistan posted 185 for 9 and won by 33 runs via the DLS method, with the target revised to 142. Iftikhar’s knock in the middle overs was the turning point that gave Pakistan a total worth defending.
10. Odean Smith (WI) – 106m vs Ireland | Group B | 21 Oct 2022
West Indies played Ireland in a Group B match at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on 21 October 2022. Odean Smith scored 19 off 12 balls with 2 sixes before West Indies finished on 146 for 5. At 19.2, Mark Adair bowled a juicy full toss,s and Smith picked the bones out of it and launched it 106 metres over deep midwicket.

West Indies lost the match by 9 wickets as Ireland chased 147 in 17.3 overs. Smith’s six in the final over was the most powerful moment of the West Indies’ innings, even though it could not save the result.
